India is Fighting back against Covid-19

Disheartened ! dreadful! Horrific! India is collapsing! Death sea! Failed as a nation! All of this negativity has filled our hearts with anxiety and stress. Everyone is blaming each other for the situation. Some are complaining about the government for not managing things properly and playing dirty politics, and some are blaming people around them for not following the rules.

It is okay to feel scared to feel insecure because the situation is not going any good, and there are 100% chances for it getting worse. But this is the time where your nation needs your support. This is not the time to blame each other; we have to come together and fight for our people.

Instead of complaining and whining about the situation, each of us should come forward and do whatever little we can. Let's become the strength for our country and make a promise to ourselves that we will come out of it much more vital than ever.

You must be thinking, It is easy to say we should fight, but practically it's impossible because the situation is out of control, we don't have enough medicine facilities, hospitals are full, medical staff is not enough, and the virus range is deadlier than last time. I agree all of this is a fact, but this doesn't mean that we should lose hope.

Despite all of this, there are some positive points to look at. As of today 13,83,79,832 are vaccinated, active cases are 25,52,940 and 1,38,67,997 are recovered. The game of numbers plays a big part; the following data is collected from the official mygov site. Make sure you follow the right resources for your information.

Various aspects in India are fighting for corona.

Government Measures

  • From the year 2020, when covid-19 began showing its consequences in India, the authorities launched an app," Arogya Setu." It helps to detect infected individuals around you. It provides all the needed info regarding covid.
  • India is the second-largest democracy; it was essential for us to provide sufficient covid-19 testing kits and centres to detect infection at initial levels. In a short period, we have developed nearly 2,463 testing centres. In the beginning, we had to import PPE kits & N95 masks, but now we are the 2nd largest producer for it.
  • As it is acknowledged that Hydroxychloroquine ( HCQ ) drug helps against covid, we increase our production capacity. India manufactures 70 % of the world's supply of HCQ and even exported it to help other nations.
  • After noticing the impact of HCQ, WHO declared to stop using it for treatment, and Dr Reddy's Remdesivire injection was introduced. India used to import it, that's why it was costly for us. Then Zydus Cadila introduced a new version of Remdesivire, and the cost of injection was minimized. The government encouraged pharmaceuticals to increase production, and today we are producing 3 lakh injections per day.
  • As the cases started increasing rapidly, there was a shortage of isolation centres at that time various community halls, and railways, Temples, Hostels etc. were converted to isolation centres instantly. We have nearly 18,52,265 Isolation centres today.
  • Currently, we are facing a shortage of Oxygen all over India to fill those requirements; the government has started "Oxygen Express "for transport. To make that quick India Air Force roped in and transported Oxygen Tanks faster. Private and Public plants helped increase Liquid Oxygen production, and the government imported nearly 50,000 MT of Oxygen from different allies.
  • It was evident to the world that China is not willing to help in any manner, so instead of going to other countries for help, India decided to start producing every aspect needed. In the year 2020 PM Cares Fund was announced, and the collected amount was allocated to encourage MADE IN INDIA expedition. As per the results, we started producing Ventilators that fulfilled the need it.
  • The medical infrastructure of India was not enough to fight against this pandemic, yet with the help of PM Cares Funds, 100 new Hospitals with Oxygen plants were built in no time.
  • In the race of vaccination, India introduced its first-ever vaccine, "COVAXIN ", on 16th Jan 2021. India provided free vaccination. In 99 days, we have vaccinated over 14 crores and became the second-fastest country to vaccinate.

These were the steps taken by the government of India now; let's discern how the People of India helped each other in this challenging time.

Efforts of India

  • Indeed India has many social activists and organizations. Still, in the covid times, several people gathered and formed small unions for their societies & areas to help vagrants, labourers and needy people. Tiffin service, medicines, essential items and what not everyone helped with whatever little they could.
  • We all are trapped in our houses. The only way to connect with the outer world is through digital platforms, and these days, social media has become a game-changer for several people. Several posts regarding vaccines, Oxygen, beds, ventilators are helping people who require it.
  • The youth of India is very much aware that plasma donation can help people who are in critical conditions. More than 900+ people donate their plasma every month which helps others to recover from Covid-19.

I know there is more than this has happened in the past year of 2020. We all have faced many ups & downs in our life. This covid time has certainly changed our life and lifestyle. Many of us have lost our loved ones, and many of us are still watching our loved ones fighting with it daily.

Time is crucial but have faith within you. Don't let the negativity outside overpower positivity inside you. And most importantly, stay united with your nation. Our country has fought many wars before and always came out strong as a nation, this war is different, but we will fight it and form a stronger India.
